DefectWalk is a site inspection app made in Australia by its independent developer ("we", "us"). We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Contact us about privacy at support@khinvestgroup.com.au.

We do not collect your location, contacts, advertising identifiers or browsing history. Camera / Photos access is used only for the photos you take or choose; the microphone is used only while you record a voice note.
Only to provide and support DefectWalk: storing and syncing your inspections, transcribing voice notes, translating report text, producing PDF / Excel reports, signing you in, managing your company workspace and subscription, preventing abuse, and answering your feedback. We do not use your inspection content for marketing and we do not sell or rent personal information.
We use these service providers to run DefectWalk. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.

Within a company workspace, everything in the workspace's projects is visible to the other members of that company. Reports you export or email are shared by you, through your own apps, with the people you choose. We may also disclose information if required by Australian law.
Overseas disclosure: company workspace data is stored in Australia. Voice recordings, text sent for translation, sign-in email addresses, feedback and subscription information are processed in the United States by the providers above. Under OpenAI's API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train their models and may be kept by OpenAI for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring before deletion.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS) and at rest by our hosting provider. Each company's data is isolated by database access rules so only its members can read or change it. Sign-in uses one-time email codes, so there is no password to steal. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
You can access, correct, export (PDF, Excel or a full backup file) and delete your information directly in the app. You can also ask us for access to or correction of personal information we hold by emailing support@khinvestgroup.com.au; we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
DefectWalk is a business tool for construction professionals and is not directed to children under 16. If we change this policy we will update this page and the "Last updated" date, and notify you in the app for significant changes.
The quickest way to reach us is Settings → Feedback in the app: describe the problem or idea and, if you'd like a reply, add your email. You can also email support@khinvestgroup.com.au. We usually reply within two business days.
